Residents at Point Hope, the City of Charleston's newest planned community, already enjoy a diverse offering of shops, restaurants, and conveniences right within their community, but there's much more on the way. The community's Publix-anchored shopping center on Clements Ferry Road is almost fully leased, with tenants ranging from dining options like Jersey Mike’s subs and Famulari’s Pizzeria to hair and nail salons, a dry cleaner, liquor store, dental services, a veterinarian, a dermatologist’s office, and walk-in healthcare services from Roper St. Francis Healthcare. The newest addition is The Look, an “exquisite eyecare experience” that is now open for business.
This spring, several new businesses are scheduled to open on the Village Green, Point Hope's urban central lawn and gathering place. The Coastal Skillet is a brunch-all-day destination that will offer a full bar and outdoor seating. Next door, Accent on Wine, a retailer with two other Charleston locations, will offer an impressive selection of wines from around the world. At the other end of the Village Green, Coastal Kids Dental & Braces will soon open their newest office, offering comprehensive dental services for children.
Meanwhile, construction on The Goddard, a mixed-use destination from Woodfield Partners, is moving along swiftly. The 12-acre site, located at the intersection of Clements Ferry Road and Point Hope Parkway, will be home to apartments, a community lawn and open space and retail buildings housing shops, restaurants, and offices. Announcements about the shops and restaurants that will occupy this space will be coming out later this year.
In January, construction began on the site adjacent to The Goddard that will be home to a growing list of retail, dining, and corporate tenants. Leases have already been signed for a Dunkin’, Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream & Sandwich Cafe, a Catrina's Cantina & Tacos, a Modern Movement yoga studio, and an Orchid Nails salon. The first businesses at this location, which is being called The Gates at Point Hope, will open in 2024.
