One of the huge advantages of buying a new home in a master-planned community is just what the name suggests… the planning behind the communities’ infrastructure is masterful and the community has a variety of elements designed to make life more convenient for homeowners, keeping the necessities close to home. This means that amenities, retail, healthcare and schools are often just a quick walk or bike ride out of a homeowner’s front door.  New master-planned communities around the Lowcountry like Carolina Park, Cane Bay, Carnes Crossroads and Nexton have set the bar high, offering residents convenient access to acclaimed schools situated within the neighborhood. Summers Corner, Summerville’s newest master-planned community, will also meet this high standard. Known as “a community in the Garden” Summers Corner is proud to offer homeowners the opportunity to grow young minds too, recognizing that high quality schools are an absolute “must have!”

In addition to being convenient, top-ranked schools are a sure way to increase the value of the homes near them.  Summers Corner is located within the esteemed Dorchester Two school district. Dorchester Two consistently ranks “excellent” on the South Carolina Annual School District Report Card and in 2014 received a “National District of Distinction” recognizing them as a model district for school leaders across the country! Dorchester Two’s newest school is set to open this August as Sand Hill Elementary opens its doors right in the heart of Summers Corner. Sand Hill Elementary will accommodate K-5 students and all Summers Corner residents are automatically qualified for registration.  Newly appointed principal Dr. Baird embraces the sentiment of the community, “I believe that the land around us can be a classroom unto itself. That’s why I’m so excited to be part of a new school in an area that is so rich in natural history.”

Rollings Middle School of the Arts is slated to move to a new location in Summers Corner in 2017, sharing a campus with Sand Hill Elementary. Principal Dr. Kathy Sobolweski echoes Dr. Baird’s sentiments.  “We believe that a creative environment nurtures creative minds. Summers Corner will give us surroundings that allow students to expand their horizons and be inspired,” she states. Rollings Middle School is an audition-only program for students in grades 6-8 with programs in band, dance, piano, strings, theater, visual arts and vocal music.  The alternative middle school is Gregg, an award-winning school a mere 8 miles from Summers Corner.

High School residents at Summers Corner will attend prestigious Ashley Ridge High School, a five minute drive from the community.  Residents of all ages can broaden their minds at the 1,000 seat Summers Corner Performing Arts Center. The Performing Arts Center will welcome live music and theater for all audiences.

Now is the ideal time to start thinking about making the move this summer.  Visit Summers Corner and tour the six decorated model homes to learn more about the community and the homes available. You’ll discover some of the best new home builders in the region and homes crafted to live beautifully, indoors and out.  Home prices begin in the mid-$280’s and range from cottages to country estates.
