Del Webb, the nation’s leading builder of active adult communities for those 55 and older, is growing in the Charleston area with Del Webb Point Hope, offering a vibrant lifestyle with exceptional amenities minutes from the Holy City’s historic downtown and beaches.
Del Webb Point Hope is the only age-restricted community with a City of Charleston address, giving residents a rare opportunity to enjoy the charm, culinary scene and conveniences of the Lowcountry in a coastal setting on the scenic Cainhoy Peninsula.
With an expected late 2025 to early 2026 opening, the new community offers 55+ homebuyers another Del Webb choice in Berkeley County beyond sold-out Del Webb at Cane Bay and actively selling
Del Webb Charleston at Nexton, both located in Summerville.
“Del Webb Point Hope is situated in one of the most desirable areas of Charleston, giving residents both a tranquil and active lifestyle in close proximity to the spirited energy of one of America’s top historic and beloved destinations,” said Matt Raines, president of PulteGroup’s Coastal Carolina Division.
The golf-cart friendly community is about 14 miles from Isle of Palms, under 20 miles to downtown Charleston and less than 10 miles to Mount Pleasant Town Center.
Plans call for 767 homes across more than 502 acres upon completion. Featuring designs from the consumer-inspired Del Webb GenYou™ collection, buyers can choose from 11 one-story low-maintenance homes. Floorplans range from 1,400 square feet to over 2,712+ square feet with two to four bedrooms and up to five baths, as well as optional lofts for added space.
“The community is expected to attract a blend of local homebuyers approaching retirement as well as those 55 and better from across the country who are drawn to this ideal location, awesome active lifestyle and legendary amenities for which Del Webb is known,” Raines said.
When complete, residents and their guests will enjoy a state-of-the art 22,000 square-foot amenity center and social hub with year-round activities. The expansive clubhouse will feature a café and catering kitchen, state-of-the-art fitness studio, indoor pool and meeting/event space. Outdoor amenities will include a swimming pool, bocce and pickleball courts and miles of walking trails.
A full-time Lifestyle Director will organize social events, clubs, interest groups and classes with plenty of opportunities to connect with friends and neighbors.
Del Webb will open a temporary Lifestyle House so that residents will have a place to gather, workout or lounge by the swimming pool well before the clubhouse is completed. The lifestyle director will be there from the beginning to plan events and ensure homeowners are kept busy and entertained.
Del Webb is nestled within Point Hope, a 9,000-acre master planned community located between the Cooper and Wando Rivers on the Cainhoy peninsula, with approximately half of the land dedicated to conservation areas, preserved wetlands, buffers and natural areas. A network of trails is being developed to connect residents and visitors to Point Hope’s parks, schools, shops, eateries and recreational offerings. The 80,000 square foot MUSC Health Clements Ferry Pavilion medical office building is expected to open this year, offering a range of services in nearly a dozen specialties that include heart and vascular care, physical and occupational therapy and orthopedics.
Prospective homebuyers are encouraged to join the Interest List for the latest updates and early access to homesite releases. The model home village in
Del Webb Charleston at Nexton is also available to tour.
