County Overview

Effingham County, gracefully situated between the winding Ogeechee and Savannah Rivers, is just a stone's throw north of Savannah, Georgia's renowned first city. Its roots stretch back deeply, as Effingham stands as one of the pioneer counties of Georgia, reflecting a rich tapestry of tradition and heritage.

Effingham County At A Glance

While the county reveres its tradition and heritage, it hasn't shied away from embracing the future. Modern amenities and contemporary home designs dot its landscapes, offering the best of both worlds to its residents.

As more and more people discover the charm of Effingham, the community has continued to grow. However, what makes Effingham unique is its ability to welcome newcomers while preserving its intimate, hometown ambiance. This harmonious blend of old and new creates an environment that feels like a rural suburb, where the pace is relaxed, yet all modern conveniences are within arm's reach. Additionally, living in Effingham offers a financial advantage; it's notably more budget-friendly than many other regions of Georgia.

Living in Effingham County

For those who have a penchant for the great outdoors, Effingham is a veritable paradise. Tuckasee King Landing showcases the county's natural beauty with its stunning vistas that beckons residents to engage in activities like hiking and fishing. These scenic spots, coupled with the county's commitment to providing its inhabitants with essential services, make living here a dream. The past is always present in Effingham. Historical sites, such as the Old Courthouse, serve as constant reminders of the county's storied past, attracting both locals and tourists alike.

Economically, Effingham presents a vibrant and resilient environment. Its foundation lies in agriculture, enriched by manufacturing sectors and a growing tourism industry. The Effingham County Industrial Development Authority (ECIDA), in partnership with the City of Rincon, was awarded a $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) in 2023 to fund water and sewer infrastructure improvements at Grande View Industrial Park. This is the future home of Sewon America, a tier one supplier for the new Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Bryan County.
